SUMMER ROAD TRIP ’19- Part II

Picking up from where I left last time, on the morning of the fourth day of my trip, we left to go to Surat and en route take a stop at Baroda where my childhood best friend stays, whom I met after almost two years. It is always so delightful and somewhat calming to meet childhood friends because they’ve somehow managed to stick on to you for soo long. She was sweet enough to make me fresh oreo bhajiya (a fried snack). I was a little scared at first but it tasted heavenly.

After a very pleasant reunion, we continued our drive to Surat where we reached at night. Moving on to the next day, there is not much to say because it was a very relaxing day which included a very long bath, some absolutely delicious Surat coco and khamani, catching up with my cousins and some reviving pasta for dinner. The next, sixth and last day of our trip was spending some quality time with my family that stays in that city and then leaving for my “home sweet home” in the evening reaching a little after midnight.

So, that was my summer trip this year. It was not very extravagant or luxurious but it was like I was trying to know more about where my ancestors might have been from, even though most of them, at least the ones I know about were born and brought up in Bombay. The following is going to be a string of photographs that I took on the trip. So, I hope you guys like them. 🙂
